+ I am writing to let you know how much my family and I enjoyed our Christmas Day Lunch at the Stag. The menu and service was excellent. All 6 courses were an absolute gastronomic delight - well done! My husband and I have eaten several times during the year at The Stag and have always thoroughly enjoyed it, but, I must admit to being extremely anxious about eating out my first ever Christmas Day Lunch at a Restaurant, and bringing our parents. +Hi to all, Can we take this opportunity to thank you for what was an amazing stay at the Stag. We were genuinely blown away by our 4 night stay with you. We were well overdue for a break and on arrival found our room not only spotless, but very homely and well appointed. The same can be said for the bar and restaurant areas, we found the chill down kick in immediately. We thought we would eat in the restaurant on the first night and take it from there. The truth is we ate in the restaurant every night!!

The choice and quality of the meals we had were fantastic, first class every course and if you wanted something a certain way it was never a problem. The same can be said for your breakfast's, huge choice and I'm so missing my bacon sandwich first thing.

This brings me on to the staff, I can honestly say we have never come across such a hardworking, friendlier bunch of people. Saturday morning at breakfast I asked the young lady serving about directions to Long Marston, she said she would check for me whilst serving us and two other tables. Shortly after she returned with a computer print out of the directions, to me service like that is not standard, she went above and beyond. Thank you

Our first night eating in the restaurant we were served by Katherine, once again nothing was ever a problem and the evening flowed, not only us but other diners as well. Excellent attention to detail.

This can be said for every meal we had, the ladies and gents that served us were fantastic, either in the restaurant or the bar area. Again thank you

We would also like to give a special thanks to Lee, there's hardworking then there's Lee. It's not only our opinion, but the rest of the staff have so much respect for him and it show's in the way people work with him. You couldn't wish to meet a nicer guy and his ability to know when your glass is empty still baffles me. He like the rest of the staff always has time for you. Many many thanks. We came to the Stag for a break and left feeling we made friends, that's special. There's a saying that's often used sarcastically 'missing you already', but as we pulled out of the car park Tuesday morning to head for home it had a certain relevance. We will be in contact within the next couple of days to arrange staying in September.
